Susan T. Weintraub, Professor of Biochemistry and Structural Biology and Director of the Mass Spectrometry Core Laboratory at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSC), was among 396 members elected as a 2017 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society. Election as an AAAS Fellow honors members whose contributions to science and technology, scientific leadership and extraordinary achievements across disciplines have distinguished them along their peers and colleagues. Prof. Weintraub was recognized for her pioneering work in the use of mass spectrometry to solve biomedical problems, and for service to the scientific community. The new AAAS Fellows were recognized on February 17, 2018 during the Fellows Forum at the 2018 AAAS Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas.
