About the Small Conferences

The Asilomar (early October) and Winter (mid- to late-January) Conferences are intended to bring experts together to discuss specific areas of new or developing research. Usually, there are about 23 speakers, and they are supported with a $25,000 Speaker Budget, which includes registration and travel stipends.

About the Fall Workshop

The Fall Workshop is a tutorial-focused event (learning a technique) intended for attendees new to a particular topic. This is not, for example, an event full of research talks. Typically, there are about ten instructors, and they are supported with a $15,000 Instructor Budget, which includes registration and travel stipends

Student Travel Stipends
The Asilomar, Fall Workshop and Winter conferences each have a Student Travel Stipend to support up to ten graduate students or postdocs (within first two years) with free registration and a $750 travel stipend.
