History of Mass Spectrometry and ASMS  Print

ASMS seeks to preserve the history of mass spectrometry and that of the Society through illustrative and descriptive posters and instrument displays and replicas.

Historical Posters

ASMS commissioned a series of posters to illustrate the time line of the Society, historical instruments, and historical developments.  Many of these posters were first displayed at the 50th Anniversary Conference held in Orlando, FL, June 2–6, 2002.  Currently posters not on loan are on display each year at the ASMS conference.

These historical posters are available on a loan basis for the cost of shipping.  They are sized to mount on standard 8'x4' poster boards.  Please contact ASMS Office if you are interested in borrowing any of these posters.

View the posters below to learn more about the history of Mass Spectrometry and ASMS.  The links above connect you to a standard-resolution PDF.  A hi-res version is also available (please be aware that download times for the hi-res version are longer.)

The information covered in the historical poster series is available in hardcover in the ASMS 50th anniversary volume, Measuring Mass: From Positive Rays to Proteins, Michael A. Grayson, ed.  $25. [Purchase this book online]
