Quantitative Intact Proteomics

 Group Coordinators: David Friedman (Vanderbilt University) and Julian Whitelegge (University California Los Angeles)

 Coordinator contact

        The main objectives for the QIP interest group are to:

1)  present data from analytical platforms that quantify on the level of intact protein species with a focus

on discovery-based quantitative proteomics on a global scale;

2)  raise awareness of sources of technical noise (sample prep, analytical and normal biological variation) versus

biological signals that are relevant to the experimental condition(s);

3)  promote the implementation of multivariate statistical analyses and raise awareness in proper experimental design to increase the signal-to-noise as defined in (2);

4)  promote technological advances to increase resolution, detection and quantification of intact protein species.
